Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What does CITYVIEW do?

A:  We provide Housing & Commercial Rehabilitation Services.  We specialize in providing the necessary technical skills to enhance any community revitalization project.

Q: What are these Modular homes?  Are they  any good?

A:  Modular homes represent almost 8% of all new U.S. home sales, with nearly 43,000 of them built in 2004 alone. In the Northeast today, 10% of the houses constructed are modular. Overall, North Carolina, Michigan and New York comprise the most popular locations for modular construction.

Modular homes are manufactured in several sections at a factory. This factory environment affords better protection against rough weather and vandalism during construction, and the process can reduce building costs. Although factory built, these houses may be completely customized.

Q: How can I get information about a Modular?  Does it take long to build?

A:   Modular homes are bought through a modular builder like CITYVIEW. After the floor plans and options have been agreed upon, a state-approved third party reviews the plans to ensure they meet the code for the state where they will be built. Furthermore, a third party inspection agency licensed by the state conducts inspections at the plant while the home is being manufactured and assembled. Meanwhile, CITYVIEW places the home's foundation.

Once manufactured, the home's sections are shipped to the site on flatbed trucks, and lifted onto the foundation by crane.
